The Story
Simple Host wasn't created in a Silicon Valley office. It was born in the chaos of a busy Saturday night, between seating guests and managing waitlists.
I didn't choose the restaurant life — I was born into it. My father was an immigrant who spent the entirety of his career living and breathing the business. As a first-generation citizen, he taught me the only life he knew. By the time I was a teenager, I knew how to manage the front of the house, deal with a wait, and keep customers pleased.
Eventually, my father, brother, and I went into the business together. We've owned successful restaurants in Florida, New York, and South Carolina. Different places, different menus, same chaos. And the biggest challenge, honestly, was staying organized.
Finding good hosts and management is hard enough. Training them on complicated software made it even more difficult. Every platform available was confusing and took too long for staff to learn. The restaurant staff always felt too challenged before the guests even came through the door. I kept thinking there had to be a better way. A system new hires could figure out in minutes, not days. When I couldn't find it, I decided to build it myself.
In 2017, I took the initiative and got to work. After long shifts at my restaurant, I would come home and start coding. Night after night, fueled by the same passion that drove my family to build successful businesses, I crafted a solution.
The goal was simple: create a system so intuitive that a new host or server could walk in, pick up an iPad or tablet, and start seating guests within minutes. No manuals. No training videos. No frustration. Just simplicity.
That's how Simple Host was born.

Over the past 8 years, Simple Host has grown significantly. What started as Pete's late-night coding sessions has evolved into a full development team. Today, Pete and his brother lead the company together, with a dedicated team of developers bringing new features to life. While the team has grown, all decisions still run through the brothers who started it all.
